AS A COACH
Surfcoast Basketball Association encourages all domestic coaches to obtain the Basketball Victoria Participation Coach Accreditation.
This coaching pathway focuses on helping coaches explore, learn and enjoy coaching, with an emphasis on creating safe, inclusive and fun experiences for participants.
The Participation Coach Accreditation is well suited to:
- First-time coaches
- Parents, teachers and volunteers
- Secondary school students
- Coaches new to basketball or returning to the game
Learning is primarily delivered through flexible online modules, combined with a 2-hour practical session that coaches can book into at locations across Victoria.
Online learning is available 24/7 and can be completed at your own pace. The full accreditation, including the practical component, costs $20.
SBA runs this accreditation locally usually once per year, or coaches can find other nearby courses through Basketball Victoria Coaching Courses & Accreditation.
